Wargrave Theatre Workshop

Welcome to the Wargrave Theatre Workshop, a thriving amateur theatre group in this delightful Thames Valley village. We stage three or four major productions each year, and run weekly workshops for Junior and Youth members, as well as a range of social events. We also offer a well-stocked wardrobe hire service and the use of our stage extension at the Woodclyffe Hall. New members are always welcome whether you want to tread the boards, join the backstage team, or just enjoy the social side, do get in touch.

COSTUME HIRE • Wargrave Theatre Workshop owns an extensive collection of costumes in all shapes and sizes, and we're pleased to hire these out to local residents for a nominal fee. If you're struggling to come up with creative ideas for what to wear to a fancy-dress party, maybe we can help. The Theatre Workshop has now taken occupation of the top floor of the Woodclyffe Hostel. In keeping with theatrical tradition, it is now known as THE GREEN ROOM.

It is a great asset for all our Workshop activities, and is also available for hire for regular daytime bookings and occasional evenings. If you're involved in any local group you'll know how difficult it can be to find a meeting room when you want it, but now you have another solution. Combined with the Sansom Room, it also offers the facility of two meeting rooms in the same building.

STAGE EXTENSION • The Theatre Workshop is responsible for operating and maintaining the retractable stage extension at the Woodclyffe Hall. This gives an extra five feet of stage in front of the proscenium arch, across the full width of the hall. For safety reasons, the extension can only be installed and dismantled by experienced members of the Workshop: this service is available in return for a £30 contribution to Workshop funds.

If you'd like us to set up the stage extension for your event, please contact us at the time you book the hall, and also check with the Hall committee that it won't interfere with other hall users. Normally we require at least four weeks notice for this service, and only offer it at weekends. For more information or to make a booking, you can also email us.
